Remove the top screws from the inner door panel to loosen the top of the inner door. Fold the control panel forward and down to access the door latch assembly.
Tip: If you can't access the door latch assembly without removing the control panel, note how the ribbon wire harness plugs into the control panel—the harness usually has a locking tab or similar mechanism that keeps it in place. Release the tab and then disconnect the control panel from the wire harness.
Plug the wire harness into the microswitch on the door latch assembly. Push the plug in fully to engage the locking tab. Tug gently on the wire harness plug to make sure it's seated properly and that the locking tab is engaged.
